Mersa Matruh Governor Alaa Abu Zeid said executive bodies in the governorate made all required preparations for receiving the International Air Rally, which is organized by British royal air rally on November 12-13.
The rally is set to start from Crete island and goes to Egypt and then South Africa.
In Egypt, the rally begins at Mersa Matruh International Airport and then heads to 6th of October Airport, Hurghada, Aswan, Abu Simbel and Sudan's Dongola and end its trip at South Africa.
Abu Zeid said at an expanded meeting on Tuesday that the governorate will make use of this global event to promote the tourism movement.
Mersa Matruh is very safe and has tourist potentials to become a global tourist attraction, according to the governor.
Some 14 countries will take part in the rally which involves 23 aircraft and 60 pilots.
