Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab conferred on Sunday with Minister of Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Holding Company for Airports and Aviation Hossam Kamal on the latest developments as regards under-construction projects to upgrade the Egyptian airports and coordination among bodies concerned in this regard.
Cabinet Spokesman Ambassador Hossam Qaweesh said the premier pressed for the need for removing all impediments in order to finish special studies to develop Cairo International Airport on condition of commitment to all stipulations included in the technical envelopes of the project.
The two sides reviewed special arrangements for establishing a service city at the airport to include international trade offices, commodities district as well as administrative premises for trade companies.
They also reviewed coordination between the transport ministry and the ministry of civil aviation to set up a railway linking Cairo Airport City and Al Ain Al Sokhna Harbor to serve the international trade and commodities district in the mega Cairo Airport project.
The meeting also took up the outcome of establishing a cargo city at Cairo Airport and the investment companies affiliated with the aviation ministry and their involvement in the project.
Mahlab highlighted the need for finishing all projects discussed at the meeting according to schedule as such projects would help in propelling the Egyptian economy and providing more job opportunities.
