Jordanian MP Amgad el Meslemani said on Wednesday that Jordan will operate five daily flights to Egypt's Sharm El Sheikh resort city in the coming period.
Meslemani, who chairs the tourism and antiquities panel at the Jordanian parliament, noted that his country will operate 30 flights from and to Egypt starting from this weekend and until the end of Christian feasts.
The Jordanian parliament hopes that Egypt could restore its leading role in the region at all levels as soon as possible, he added.
He noted that 50,000 Jordanian tourists visited Sharm El Sheikh in 2015, expecting the figure to increase by 20 percent this year.
Meslemani thanked Egypt's Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Tharwat for his efforts to support the sector of tourism in the two countries.
