Several programs are under way for the manufacture of warplanes and other military and non-military aircraft, Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said Monday. The brigadier general gave the update on the projects during the 11th Aerospace Conference in Tehran, the government-backed Islamic Republic News Agency reported. Vahidi said Iran ranked among the 10 top world countries active in missile production. He said domestic technologies and expertise were used in the missiles produced by Iran. He said Iran was eighth worldwide in building satellite carriers and praised the Iran-140 civilian aircraft as one of the country\'s greatest aerospace technology achievements.
