In what promises to be cheery news to India-bound travellers already burdened by skyrocketing airfares, IndiGo — India\'s fastest growing budget carrier — will commence services from Muscat effective from October 10. In a statement, the airline\'s Oman general sales agent, Muscat International Services, said the new service is part of IndiGo\'s wider foray into the international market with operations planned to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok in the first phase. Initially, the carrier plans to operate four flights a week between Muscat and Mumbai, leaving Muscat a little after midnight at 00.05am on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The same flight will continue to Singapore after a brief stopover in Mumbai. The Mumbai-Muscat flight will be on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday reaching Muscat at 10.45pm. IndiGo will be connecting Delhi and Mumbai to Dubai and Bangkok from early next month.
