A MiG-21 combat aircraft of Indian Air Force Friday crashed in the western state of Rajasthan, but the pilot managed to eject safely, a senior Defense Ministry official said. \"The plane was on a routine sortie and the incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. when the pilot was preparing for landing near Uttarlai airport in the state\'s Barmer district. The pilot ejected safely,\" Defense Ministry official S.D. Goswami told the media in the national capital. This is the sixth crash involving the MiG-21 series combat aircraft.
