Tartous Sea Corniche , resorts and cabins have recently witnessed an increasing tourist movement since the beginning of July, in addition to the increase of the proportion of the booking at the hotels and complex which is considered as an important indicator of a promising tourist season for this year. Director of Tartous Tourism Directorate Rajaa Zeidan said the tourist movement in the governorate in general is good as the tourist groups from all the Syrian governorates started to pour into the city in spite of the media mobilization by some misleading satellite TVs.The Tourist offices also started to offer their tourist trips programs for summer with special discounts which contribute to encouraging the domestic tourism. Director of al-Shiraa Tourist Complex in Tartous, Ali Kheir Bick, said the tourist movement in the governorate is witnessing a remarkable increase, particularly the domestic tourism as a large number of tourist groups started to pour into the region during the last two weeks from various areas in the central region. Chairman of Board of Directors of al-Nawras Tourist Complex Osama al-Sheikh said 80 percent of the complex cabins were booked by tourists from Homs and Hama. Tartous governorate possesses a fascinating sandy beach as cabins and tourist complexes are stretched along it.
