Gulf Air re-launched flights to four prominent Iraqi destinations commencing with the first Al Najaf flight from Bahrain International Airport. Al Najaf is the first destination to reopen with four weekly flights (which will be increased to daily from December 1st). Commenting on the flight’s re-launch, Gulf Air Deputy Chief Executive Officer Maher Al Musallam said: “We have seen strong bookings since the announcement of re-opening of our routes, and we are definitely starting off as we mean to go on.” Flights to Baghdad, Erbil and Basra in Iraq will begin progressively between September 21st and October 29th. Baghdad will launch on September 21st with five weekly flights while Erbil will launch effective from September 23rd with four weekly flights increasing to daily from October 28th and Basra will launch on October 29th with three weekly flights increasing to four from December 1st, 2012.
