An official source at the Central Bank of Egypt has denied claims by the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines that it had suspended its flights to Egypt because of restrictions imposed on the transfer of foreign currency out of Egypt.
Such claims are groundless, the source told MENA on Tuesday, saying Dutch airlines announced the suspension of its flights from Amsterdam to Cairo - to be effective as of January- following signing a partnership agreement with Air France to move its passengers to Cairo.
This agreement is the real reason behind the suspension of the Dutch airlines' flights to Cairo, the source said, adding Air France will be an alternative and operate daily flights between Paris and Cairo.
