The British Foreign Office updated its travel warning for Israel and the Palestinian territories on Friday in light of the day's shooting attack in central Tel Aviv, which left two people dead, Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post reported.
Due to heightened tensions and violence, the UK urged its citizen to remain up to date with local media and take precautions while traveling in the region.
"An attack in central Tel Aviv on 1 January by an assailant using an automatic weapon has caused a number of casualties. If in the area, you should remain vigilant and follow the advice of the security forces," read the updated advisory.
