Author Vera Ogden Bakker explores the meaningful relationship between humans and their environment through poetry in her new collection of poems, “Borrowed Breath” (published by AuthorHouse).
Bakker takes inspiration from the world around her to craft each individual poem. Her writing reflects her thoughts and feelings on everyday occurrences as well as scenes from mountains, deserts and forests.
Through her collection, Bakker hopes to inspire introspection in her readers and a sense of appreciation for the beauty of the environment.
An excerpt from the title poem featured in “Borrowed Breath”:
“Willing or not
we share this earth with all life,
until our last breath
returns to its Source,
where we must account
for our stewardship.”
