Prominent comedian Sayyed Zayan died on Wednesday at the age of 73 after a long battle with illness.
In statements to MENA, member of the actors syndicate's board of directors Sameh el Sereity said that preparations are underway for his funeral procession.
Born on August 17, 1943, he started his career in cinema and theater late in the 1960s and was mainly active during the 1980s.
Zayan is known for his movies "El Motasaul" (the Beggar) in 1983 and "Layla Sakhina" (A Hot Night) in 1994.
He boomed on stage with late actor Fouad El Mohandis in the great hit theater play "Sayyedaty El Gameela" (My Fair Lady) in 1969.
