This season's Eid films bring in LE5 million in revenues, a number that has not been reached for the past three years
This year's Eid, a popular season for visiting cinemas following Ramadan, brought in the most revenues in the past three years, totalling up to LE5 million.
Egyptian producer Sobky's film The Third World War was the highest grossing film at the box office compared to The Blue Elephant, Made in Egypt, Mary's Wedding and Antar w Beesa.
The film stars comedy trio Ahmed Fahmy, Hesham Maged and Shiko, who are the same trio behind hit films Sameer, Shaheer and Baheer and Banat El Am.
The Third World War features historic Egyptian, Arab and international characters who get caught in various encounters.
The film grossed LE1 million on the first day of Eid.
The Blue Elephant starring Karim Abdelaziz grossed close to a million pounds on the first day of its release and 700 thousand pounds on the next days. While Amr Salama's Made in Egypt grossed LE1.5 miliion during Eid.
