Kuwaiti singer Shams is keeping away from the media until her upcoming album is released, which is expected after Eid Al-Adha. Sources said Shams’ new album will not have her picture on the album’s cover. The album contains 12 songs for which she collaborated with a number of Gulf musicians and poets. Shams received harsh criticism after the release of her video song “Ashtah.” Many said the video had crossed the line as far as Gulf traditions were concerned. In the video she is allegedly trying to seduce a man who is surrounded by maids wearing skimpy outfits. The way she was dressed was also criticized.
