Netflix and Marvel Studios have released the first full trailer for its upcoming Daredevil series starring Charlie Cox as the show's titular blind hero as he wages a personal war against organized crime.
"I'm not seeking forgiveness for what I've done," Cox ominously narrates.
"I"m asking forgiveness for what I'm about to do ... I'm just trying to make my city a better place."
Daredevil follows working-class lawyer Matt Murdock, blinded in a freak accident at an early age but granted enhanced senses in the same incident.
Notably absent from the trailer is Daredevil's iconic red costume. Instead, Cox as Murdock is clad in all black, harkening back to the character's forgettable Incredible Hulk TV-movie appearance and the significantly more fondly remembered Man Without Fear comic miniseries, penned by Frank Miller of Sin City and 300 fame.
The marketing for Netflix's take on Daredevil has been somewhat of a slow tease, with the project's promotion team first releasing a "motion poster," then a 15-second teaser, before finally unveiling the full-length trailer Wednesday.
In addition to Cox, Daredevil stars Deborah Ann Woll, Rosario Dawson and Vincent D'Onofrio. The series' 13-episode first season premieres on Netflix on April 10 at midnight.
