Disney's Into the Woods released its first trailer Thursday.
The preview teases the first glimpse of The Baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt), along with fairy tale characters Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Prince Charming (Chris Pine), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), The Wolf (Johnny Depp), The Witch (Meryl Streep), Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy) and Jack (Daniel Huttlestone) from Jack and the Beanstalk.
Into the Woods is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago) and adapted from the Stephen Sondheim Broadway musical of the same name. The story follows a childless baker and his wife who seek to lift a curse placed on them by The Witch. The couple meet characters from various Brothers Grimm fairy tales during their journey, and explore the consequences of wishes and quests.
The movie also stars Tracey Ullman as Jack's mother, Christine Baranski as Cinderella's stepmother, Tammy Blanchard and Lucy Punch as Cinderella's stepsisters, and Billy Magnussen as Rapunzel's prince. Into the Woods is scheduled for release December 25, Christmas Day.
