Kristen Bell, Stephen Colbert, Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey are to take part in the Entertainment Industry Foundation's Think It Up roadblock, broadcast telethon.
Also featuring Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeremy Renner, Ryan Seacrest and Jessica Williams, the program is to air Sept. 11 on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.
The inaugural show will encourage viewers to support student-powered, teacher-led projects via crowdfunding on DonorsChoose.org.
Taking place at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport, the show will include live, musical performances and comedic sketches.
"I am delighted to be in on the ground floor of Think It Up. EIF has had a remarkable track record with Stand Up to Cancer, having shined a spotlight and rallied Americans around an important challenge that affects us all," Vicki Phillips, leader of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's K-12 education program and a member of the Think It Up advisory committee, said in a statement.
"At this critical moment in public education, EIF is answering the call once again. Think It Up is an unprecedented effort to build a national movement to support the powerful bond between students and teachers in the important work of learning. Only EIF can harness the power and influence of Hollywood to create a culture of optimism and excitement around what is possible in our nation's schools."
