President Abdel Fattah el Sisi plans to visit Japan during the coming period in response to an invitation from the Japanese prime minister, said the Egyptian foreign minister on Saturday.
In statements to representatives of main Japanese media outlets, Sameh Shoukry said the planned visit of Sisi is meant to promote cooperation in all fields.
The minister hailed as close the relations between Egypt and Japan at the political, economic and cultural levels.
Japan is a key partner for Egypt, he said.
The top diplomat replied during the meeting with Japanese media figures to their questions about Cairo's vision for regional issues including the crisis in Yemen, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Aatti.
