Kuwait's cabinet has decided to raise the price of fuel to be in harmony with the average rates in the other GCC states, the official Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported on Monday.
"The new pricing policy will be in effect as of 1-9-2016 in line with the policies adopted in the GCC countries," the cabinet said.
The news scheme will price Octane-91 at 85 fils per liter, Octane-95 at 105 fils per liter, and Ultra-Premium at 165 fils per liter.
The decision follows a recommendation by the economic affairs committee to begin "rationalizing" fuel subsidies in the country.
