The Court of Cassation set a May 4 session to issue a ruling in the case of retrying former prime minister Ahmed Nazif over charges of illicit gain.
Nazif had challenged a previous ruling that was issued by the Cairo Criminal Court sentencing him to five years in prison and a fine of 53 million pounds, and also paying back up to 48 million pounds to the State treasury.
Rulings of the Cassation Court are irrevocable and can not be challenged by any form of litigation.
