Commercial affairs counselor at the Chinese embassy in Cairo Han Ping has stressed the importance of an upcoming visit to Egypt by the Chinese president.
Xi Jinping's visit to Egypt will help boost economic cooperation between the two countries, Han told MENA on Saturday.
He expected the second phase of a project to establish a Chinese industrial zone in Ain Sokhna would be launched during the visit.
The first phase has been established over an area of 1,034 kilometers, Han said, noting that 30 companies are already operating there.
Han hailed as "important" the visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to China in December during which a strategic partnership agreement was signed between the two sides.
He urged the Egyptian government to act to facilitate obstacles facing Chinese companies in Egypt, especially where securing energy and easing administrative measures are concerned.
