The Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information will convene next week at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo to discuss a number of media issues.
Egypt will chair the gathering, which will be held on January 11-12. It will discuss ways of improving performance of Arab mass media in light of challenges threatening the Mideast region.
The conferees will probe the role of media in confronting terrorism and ways of dealing with the hatred campaign launched recently by some Western mass media against Arabs and Muslims.
The executive bureau is made up of eight countries, namely Kuwait, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Djibouti, the UAE, Iraq and Egypt.
