World leaders began on Monday arriving at Le Bourget, the venue of the UN climate change summit, known as COP21.
Nearly 150 world leaders, including the presidents of the US, Egypt and China, are among the summit participants.
The arrivals were welcomed by French President Francois Hollande and UN chief Ban Ki-moon.
More than 40,000 delegates from 195 countries are attending COP21, which has the goal of achieving a legally binding agreement to keep global warming below what most scientists say is the critical threshold of 2 degrees Celsius of warming.
