Asmaa Hosny, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), discussed in a meeting with Swedish Ambassador in Cairo Ms. Charlotta Sparre ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the technology and entrepreneurship fields.
Also, the two officials reviewed the efforts exerted to develop the IT industry and support domestic companies through launching a number of programs for improving skills and manufacturing electronics to push forward this sector, the ITIDA said in a statement.
Furthermore, Hosny asserted that the ITIDA pays great attention to developing skills and qualifying special cadres to heal the gap between the market’s needs and university graduates, the statement added.
The ITIDA is keen on promoting the entrepreneurship area through encouraging youth to set up innovative projects, especially in light of the growing government interest to improve the IT industry, which in turn could help stimulate the economy and increase the growth rates, the statement read.
For her part, the Swedish ambassador hailed the work plan adopted by the Egyptian Telecommunications Ministry and its bodies in the IT sector.
The Swedish diplomat expressed his country’s willingness to cement cooperation with Egypt to bolster innovation and competitiveness in both countries
