President Abdel Fattah El Sisi phoned Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to discuss means of enhancing cooperation.
The call tackled a number of issues of mutual concern, mainly with regard to fighting terrorism in the region.
President Sisi underlined the the UAE's status in the hearts of Egyptians.
The Egyptian praised the UAE's stances in support of Egypt, hailing as strong relations binding both countries.
Malicious bids aiming at destabilizing the region will not affect bilateral relations between Cairo and Abu Dhabi, Sisi said.
For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said that his country is keen to consolidate bilateral ties in order to serve the interests of both sides.
