President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Monday a US Congress delegation under House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
The meeting was also attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Intelligence Chief Khaled Fawzy and US Ambassador in Cairo Stephen Beecroft.
During the meeting, Sisi asserted that the delegation's visit reflects the deep-rooted strategic relationship between the two countries.
Sisi also asserted Egypt's keenness on fostering bilateral ties with the US.
On his part, Nunes said that a number of congressmen understand now Egypt's viewpoint and want to foster mutual relations and help Cairo to supass challenges facing it in order to restore security and stability in the Middle East.
Sisi asserted the importance of friendly countries, topped by US, in supporting Egypt in political and economic fields.
The meeting also tackled the Libyan crisis and terrorism phenomenon in the region.
