President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Arab youths and sports ministers and heads of Arab youths and sports councils on Monday in the presence of Youths and Sports Minister Khaled Abdel Aziz.
Sisi welcomed the Arab officials and stressed that more attention should be given to youths' issues in light of the development of communication and social interaction means.
Youths have to be immunized against violent and extremist ideas, while instilling in them the principles of preserving the state's entity and national institutions, Sisi said during the meeting according to presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.
In this context, Sisi praised a campaign launched by the Arab youths ministers on Sunday themed "no to violence, no to extremism and no to terrorism."
He also called for improving the quality of education as it is a great factor in shaping their awareness against misconceptions.
The Egyptian president also shed light on the pivotal role of the media message and the need to renew it to cope with this era, the spokesman said.
Sisi underlined the importance of activating the role of Arab youth and sport ministries in the current phase, achieving integration among them and increasing visit exchanges among Arab youths so that they get firsthand experience on the cultures and traditions of other countries.
Meanwhile, Egyptian Youths and Sports Minister Khaled Abdel Aziz reviewed the main topics that the council of Arab sport and youth ministers will discuss during a meeting later Monday, the spokesman added.
