Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that Cairo is supporting sisterly Yemen and its legitimate government.
The remark was made at a meeting here on Sunday evening with Yemeni President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings, that will kick off later in the day, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef on Monday.
The president also asserted Egypt's keenness on the stability and territorial integrity of Yemen, added the spokesman.
President Sisi underlined the necessity of maintaining close consultation between both countries within the framework of the UN Security Council and other international forums, according to the spokesman.
Sisi also highlighted the importance of maintaining UN-sponsored negotiations for reaching a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, added the spokesman.
For his part, the Yemeni president expressed appreciation for the supportive Egyptian stances on his country within the framework of the Arab coalition and the UN Security Council along with other international forums, added the spokesman.
