Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, now on a visit to the US, met on Thursday with David Thorne, the Senior Adviser to US Secretary of State John Kerry.
They discussed ways to bolster economic relations between the two countries, Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a press release.
Thorne said the US is keen on supporting Egypt to face economic challenges. He further described Egyptian-US relations as 'strategic'.
Shoukry, for his part, presented a report on Egypt's under-construction projects and programs.
Egypt seeks to make use of the expertise of developed countries in the economic field, he said.
Shoukry invited American businessmen to benefit from promising investment opportunities in Egypt, atop of which is the Suez Canal Development Axis Project as well as energy and basic infrastructure projects.
