Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks on Thursday evening with British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings, now in session in New York.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid, in a released statement, said that the two sides discussed bilateral relations, with an emphasis on resuming British flights to Sharm el Sheikh city.
Shoukry asserted at the meeting that cooperation between both sides over the past period proved that there is a genuine Egyptian will to provide all security guarantees for visitors to Egypt and that all Egyptian airports are fully secured, according to the statement.
For his part, the British minister asserted that cooperation between both countries is fully maintained and that he will work to resume British flights as soon as possible, added the spokesman.
