Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks here with his Swedish counterpart Margot Wallström on bilateral relations and means of bolstering them in the various fields.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Badr Abdel Aati said on Tuesday the meeting took up a set of regional and international issues of common interest, the situation in Libya and means of pushing forward a political solution in view of the efforts exerted by the UN envoy for Libya Bernandio Lion.
The two ministers also highlighted the necessity of enabling the Libyan government to defend itself and fight the terrorism organizations.
They also covered means of realizing a balance in the main principles of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the importance of putting into effect a resolution issued in 1995 on freeing the Middle East region from weapons of mass destruction.
