The ambassadors of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and the Bahraini Charge d'affaires accredited to the Republic of Turkey met here today with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
During the meeting, they disclosed procedures and steps taken by the three states regarding severing diplomatic and consular relations with the State of Qatar in light of the three states' commitment to combat terrorism, dry up sources of funding terrorism and counter extremism. They added that severing relations was made due to Doha's continuous violations of the commitments and agreements signed by Qatar, including its commitment of not supporting or sheltering extremists or organizations seeking to undermine the states' security. They added that Qatar ignored repeated calls urging the authorities in Doha to abide by Riyadh Agreement in 2013, and its executive mechanism, and the supplementary agreement in 2014, stressing that these violations targeted the three states' national security and spread chaos by terrorist individuals and organizations based in the State of Qatar, or supported by Qatar. They confirmed that the three countries will not hesitate to confront these attempts and will address any act targeting their national security and stability of their peoples.
The two ambassadors and the charge d'affaires stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi are keen on the interest of the Qatari people who are an original and natural extension of their brothers in the three states where they consider the humanitarian cases of the joint families among Qatar and their states.
For his part, the ambassadors listened from the Turkish foreign minister about the Turkish government's evaluation and its role and efforts in providing a solution of this crisis.
