Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi on Thursday met with Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul Ghait and Arab foreign ministers and briefed them on recent efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to oblige Israel to reverse its actions in Al-Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al Sharif.
Safadi held a series of one-on-one meetings with Algerian, Egyptian, Kuwaiti and Palestinian foreign ministers.
Meanwhile, the Arab officials praised the efforts exerted by Jordan and its leadership to maintain the historical and legal situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque and refuse the Israeli measures that aimed at changing the status quo there.
The meetings were held on the sidelines of the Arab foreign ministers’ extraordinary meeting, which was held in Cairo upon Jordan’s request.
