Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Meets Minister of Economy

HE Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, met on Tuesday with HE Minister of Economy and Commerce, Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, and the delegation accompanying him, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Qatari-Sri Lankan joint committee on economic, commercial and technical cooperation, which takes place in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.
The meeting reviewed aspects of mutual cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, commerce and investment, and means of developing them.
The volume of trade exchange between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Sri Lanka amounted to QR 223 million in 2016. Nearly 210 Sri Lankan companies operate in the State of Qatar with a joint Qatari-Sri Lankan capital of around QR 45.5 million.
