Prime Minister Hani Al Mulki discusses with Japanese Defense Minister Tomomi Inada, cooperation between Jordan and Japan in the defense field.
Al Mulki said that his talks with the Japanese minister come as a follow up of the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to further boost defense cooperation that include participation in peace keeping and humanitarian missions, crisis management, the fight against terrorism and the exchange of training and expertise.
He also said that the Memorandum of Understanding on defense cooperation between Jordan and Japan that was signed last year during King Abdullah’s visit to Japan, will contribute to enhancing joint cooperation.
Talks during the meeting also dealt with efforts of both countries to fight terrorism and extremism.
The prime minister voiced Jordan’s appreciation of the support and aid provided by Japan to implement a number of projects in the defense field.
The Japanese defense minister said she was honored to sign the MoU that covers defense cooperation during His Majesty’s visit to Japan last year.
She expressed her country’s appreciation of Jordan’s King, government and people for the supportive stance to Japan regarding the two Japanese hostages who were killed by the Daesh terrorist group.
