Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday met Masaharu Kohno, Japan's envoy for the peace process in the Middle East, currently on a visit to the Palestinian territories.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the peace process. President Abbas highlighted the important role of Japanese support for the French initiative for peace in the Middle East and its effective participation in the recent conference in Paris.
In turn, the Japanese envoy reiterated his country's commitment to continue to back the peace process based on the two-state solution and to support the Palestinian people in building their institutions.
