His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, performed Juma (Friday) prayer and the absentee funeral prayer for the martyrs yesterday at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Performing the prayers along with King Hamad and Sheikh Mohamed were H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, H.H. Sheikh Dhiyab bin Zayed Al Nahyan H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs (ZHO), H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Executive Council Member, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.
The Friday prayer sermon, titled "Martyrs of the Nation", was delivered by Sheikh Khalifa Al Dhaheri who said that the Emirati heroes sacrificed their lives in defence and support of the Yemeni people.
"The UAE people are all one family which is proud of its leadership and its martyrs who sacrificed their own lives to be rewarded with paradise," said Sheikh Al Dhaheri, and added that the recent events had made the UAE more determined to defend what is right, and to rally behind the wise leadership.
He prayed to Allah the Almighty to bestow eternal peace on the martyrs and to reward them with paradise. He also prayed for the mothers, fathers and relatives of the martyrs to be granted patience and solace and for the Arab coalition forces to be granted victory to enable Yemen to regain its legitimacy, stability and peace.
Following the Friday prayer, King Hamad, Sheikh Mohamed and other worshippers performed the absentee funeral prayer for the UAE martyrs.
Earlier, the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Mohamed, Sheikhs and officials visited the tomb of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and read Surat Al Fatiha for his soul.
