Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab conferred on Monday with Italian Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi on means of bolstering mutual cooperation in the economic, trade and investment sectors in the presence of ministers of trade, industry, electricity and investment.
Following the meeting, Mahlab asserted the depth of the Egyptian-Italian relations not only at the political level but at the economic, trade and cultural ones.
The premier voiced his appreciation for the continuation of visits between the two countries to carry out joint investment projects, noting that Egypt is willing to pump more Italian investments to Egypt and help in promoting the number of Italian tourists visiting Egypt.
He also asserted that Egypt has made several measures to facilitate investment and encourage the private sector to establish production and service projects.
During the expanded meeting, a number of Italian companies and foundations reviewed their activities in Egypt in the fields of oil, gas, financing, insurance, maritime transport, railway and electricity and unveiled their future plans to expand their businesses in Egypt.
