Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam met here today with Spanish King Felipe VI and his accompanying delegation, who began a two-day official visit on Tuesday.
A statement by the Lebanese cabinet said that the two sides discussed a number of bilateral issues.
Salam said he was committed to strengthening relations between the two countries and thanked Spain for its participation in the UNIFIL, the UN Interim Force in Southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese premier welcomed the efforts of the Spanish contingent operating within the peacekeeping force and praised its successes in building friendly relations with the Lebanese citizens of the South.
The Spanish King will meet other Lebanese high ranking officials, including a visit to Spanish Battalion serving in UNIFIL tomorrow.
