His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday toured the SIAL Middle East 2015, the region s fastest-growing professional trade exhibition for food and hospitality industries, and visited different national pavilions.
King Mohammed VI and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stopped at the Moroccan pavilion and were briefed about the displayed collections of Moroccan cuisine, as well as natural cosmetics and healthy foods.
They also visited the pavilion of Jenan Foods Company which has food investments in the United States, Spain, Sudan, Ethiopia and Egypt and mainly focusses on livestock fodders, rice, wheat and maize.
King Mohammed VI and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed were also briefed about the objectives and projects of Al Dahra Group, a prominent leader in the agribusiness, specialising in the cultivation, production and trading of animal feed and essential human food commodities such as rice, flour, fruits and vegetables. The group owns and operates a large asset base including a land bank of 200,000 acres, 8 forage pressing and production plants, 4 rice milling plants and 2 flour milling plants.
They also visited the pavilion of Farmers Services Centre, as well as the pavilion of the Food Security Centre - Abu Dhabi.
At the end of their tour, King Mohammed VI and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed applauded the progress made in the food and agriculture industries in the UAE, Morocco and other countries. They also praised the SIAL Middle East as a key platform for the global food industry.
Some 30 national pavilions are taking part in this edition of SIAL Middle East exhibition which is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. It is organised by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority.
