King Abdullah II of Jordan met here Wednesday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Talks during the meeting dealt with ways to revive peacemaking efforts and the latest developments in the Middle East. The King emphasized Jordan's support to efforts designed to restart the peace process and to work with the various concerned parties to overcome difficulties blocking the re-launch of peace negotiations once again, based on the two-state solution. He also pledged that the Kingdom will continue to protect Muslim and Christian shrines in the holy city of Jerusalem, Jordan Petra news agency reported.
President Abbas hailed Jordan's efforts in support of the Palestinian people and its just cause.
