Iraqi Vice President Nouri al-Maliki said Thursday that Baghdad and Cairo seek to further step up their cooperation.
Maliki called, during a meeting here with Egypt's Ambassador to Iraq Ahmed Darwish, for adopting a unified approach toward terrorism and extremism.
The Egyptian diplomat told MENA that the meeting tackled the latest political and security developments in Iraq as well as regional issues of common concern, particularly combating terrorism.
Darwish reiterated Egypt's full support for Iraq in the ongoing war against Daesh terror group.
"The stability of Iraq is a key pillar of the security and stability in the region," he noted.
