International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr received on Wednesday Dr Hany Helal, the general coordinator of the Egyptian-Japanese partnership in education.
During the meeting, Nasr asserted that education development is a priority for the ministry in order to benefit from the various expertise, particularly in Japan which is more or less similar to Egypt in a number of traditions.
The meeting came in the light of the ministry's efforts to put the initiatives and agreements, signed during President Sisi's visit to Japan, into effect.
Dr Helal reviewed the details of the Egyptian-Japanese partnership, in which the International Cooperation Ministry is involved as a key member.
The initiative aims at developing education in Egypt through two axes.
The first one addresses the elementary education stage through sending a large number of Egyptian teachers and headmasters to Japan to receive professional training, he said.
The second one deals with the post-graduate stage through increasing the number of Egyptian graduates sent to Japanese universities in various domains, he added.
At the meeting conclusion, Nasr voiced full support for the initiative as a top priority for Egypt to promote education.
