A union for the Arab female media personnel was inaugurated under the auspices of the Arab League (AL).
The union will be led by media figure Asmaa Habashy.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the participation of media personnel from 16 Arab countries, Culture Minister Helmy Namnam, representatives of the Tourism Ministry and the AL secretary general.
Namnam highlighted the importance of the union amid the challenges witnessed by the region and spread of the terrorism phenomenon in the world countries.
In his speech delivered during the ceremony, Namnam criticized the failure of the Arab media to defend the Arab nation at a time foreign countries accuse the Arabs and Muslims of committing terror acts.
He further said that the Arab media failed to present a positive image of the society.
