His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has lauded the solid long-standing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which the two kingdoms are celebrating their 200th anniversary.

HRH the Prime Minister asserted that the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales will add a new dimension to the deep-rooted relations between the two kingdoms, and their joint cooperation which, he said, supports efforts to strengthen security and stability.

HRH Premier stressed that the Bahrain-UK cooperation is growing steadily, and strengthens the friendship ties between the two nations, noting that more rapprochement between the two countries is required in the midst of the instable situation in the world.

HRH the Prime Minister made the statements while receiving here today HRH the Prince of Wales.

HRH Premier reviewed with HRH the Prince of Wales the Bahraini-British relations of friendship and cooperation, emphasising the two countries' constant keenness on bolstering cooperation between them for the best interests of their friendly peoples.

HRH the Prime Minister hailed the good efforts being exerted by HRH the Prince of Wales in consolidating the Bahrain-UK relations and broadening areas of bilateral cooperation.

The Prime Minister also praised the efforts exerted by the British expatriate community in Bahrain to support the kingdom's development march, praising their outstanding expertise in various fields.

While reviewing the latest regional and global developments with HRH the Prince of Wales, HRH Premier affirmed that the on-going troubles and conflicts in the region do not serve the security and stability of its countries, stressing that collective efforts have become necessary, now more than ever, to steer the region away from such conflicts by resolving their causes through dialogue and diplomacy.

The region has had enough wars, and it is suffering from serious dangers and threats that may subvert its security and stability, HRH Premier said, stressing the importance of UK's role in maintaining security and stability in the region and across the world, given its international weight.

HRH the Prince of Wales lauded the positive developments witnessed by the long-standing Bahraini-British relations, affirming his country's keenness on bolstering them. He also said that his country was looking forward to opening up new horizons of cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
