Dr. Mohammed Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, received Abu Bakr Othman Ibrahim, Minister of Guidance and Endowments in Sudan, who is currently visiting the country.
Both sides held a meeting at the headquarters of the authority in Abu Dhabi as Dr. Al Kaabi hailed the depth of bilateral ties established since the era of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
They viewed the progress of the MoUs signed between both parties during several visits and meetings aimed at promoting co-operation in religious affairs, continued efforts for the training of imams, and exchange of research, studies and activities. These are aimed at purifying religious discourse from any deviation from the principles of moderation and tolerance.
The visiting minister and the accompanying delegation watched a documentary on the achievements of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the continuous support of the wise leadership to the missions, initiatives and national projects of the authority to serve the community and humanity.
The visiting minister praised these achievements and initiatives of the authority that seek to serve contemporary Islamic thought and promote the values of tolerance and co-existence. He noted that the UAE has become a contemporary model to follow in this regard.
He further highlighted the development he witnessed at Quran memorising centres, mosques and examinations hall and the use of advanced technologies to motivate people to contribute to the comprehensive development taking place in the country.
