Minister of State for Population Hala Youssef returned to Cairo Sunday after a several-day visit to the United States.
During the visit, she took part in the 48th Session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development held in New York.
The minister called for merging the issue of immigration in the post-2015 agenda to secure the rights of the immigrants and cement the chances of sustainable development.
She met on the sidelines of the meeting with Executive Director of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Babatunde Osotimehin in New York.
During the meeting, the UN official stressed that support for the population issue in Egypt would continue, a statement by the Egyptian Population Ministry said.
He called for building on what Egypt has achieved since 1994 when an international conference on population and development was held in Egypt.
