Supply Minister Mohamed Ali Moselhi met on Thursday with the Ugandan minister for Veterans Affairs Maj. Bright Rwamirama who is paying a state visit to Egypt currently.
In a statement issued by the ministry, Moselhi agreed to activate and increase trade exchanges and economic relations between Egypt and Uganda and benefiting from the huge available potentials and advantages and trade incentives provided by Comesa treaty.
He said the economic and trade bilateral relations do not mach the political ones, in light of the huge potentials and all measures taken to facilitate developing relations with African and Nile basin countries.
It was agreed to establish commercial exchange projects directly between Egypt and Uganda without needing third countries for increasing investment and trade between the two countries.
There will be coordination between Ugandan officials and the Egyptian companies operating there to determine the goods to be exchanged, he said, adding that Egypt will benefit from the Ugandan products the Egyptian market needs, such as meat, tea, coffee, oil and cocoa.
