During his meeting Thursday with Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé at the Ittihadiya presidential palace, President Sisi said that the visit reflects the distinguished relations between the two countries and emphasized that Egypt is committed to forging closer cooperation with Togo across all fields.
He added that the visit also comes within the framework of Egypt's efforts to further advance its relations with all African countries as well as its openness to Africa and its causes.
President Gnassingbé, for his part, expressed deep appreciation for Egypt's leadership and people, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
He confirmed that Togo appreciates its relations with Egypt and is committed to stepping up cooperation at the various levels, according to the spokesman.
He further emphasized that Egypt's restoration of its leading role in Africa benefits the continent.
This is in addition to its pivotal role in advancing efforts to settle conflicts and address problems and challenges in the continent, he added.
President Gnassingbé voiced interest to benefit from the Egyptian experience with regard to the national youth conference, said the spokesman.
In this regard, President Sisi emphasized the importance of these conferences which offer an opportunity for the youths to express their concerns and hopes and to interact with the state's leadership and government within a framework of transparency and openness.
The meeting also tackled bilateral relations and ways to enhance them to attain the shared interests of the two countries and their peoples.
