Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba)’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Murray paid an inspection visit to one of the Bahraini major equipment contracting companies for Line 6 Expansion Project – Ahmed Mansoor Al Aali (AMA Group) on Tuesday, 04 July 2017.
AMA Groupis manufacturing 427 potshells (each weighing 44 metric tonnes) for Alba’s Line 6 Expansion Project, the first of which will be delivered to the Alba site starting 1stOctober 2017. In addition, AMA Group along with its partner ALUCOR Ltd. (Dubai) are fabricating 424 ringbus bars (each weighing 47 metric tonnes) the first of which will be delivered to the Alba site by 15 October 2017. These major smelter components are some of the largest ever manufactured in the aluminium smelting industry in the world.
Speaking about this visit, Murray said:
“We are pleased that AMA Group, a Bahraini company, is one of our major contractors on the Line 6 Expansion Project. Both, the potshells and busbar rings are 100% fabricated in Bahrain, thus demonstrating the ability of Bahraini companies to back our landmark project.
We are also happy with the stringent safety procedures adopted by AMA Group, which underline our corevalue – to uphold the highest standards of Safety in Alba Tomorrowland.”
Murray was accompanied by Alba’s acting Chief Operations Officer Hassan Noor and Manager Line 6 Engineering Paul Otteson and escorted by AMA Group General Manager Haresh Patel and Alucor Director, Nimish Bhatia.
